Singer Tom Walker has revealed his dreams of opening for Kate Middleton at Glastonbury following their memorable duet at her Christmas carol concert.
Tom, 30, was handpicked by the Duchess of Cambridge to perform at the event, which was recorded at Westminster Abbey at the end of last year.
The pair collaborated on Tom’s Christmas single, For Those Who Can't Be Here, as Kate, 39, showed off her impressive piano skills for the very first time as she accompanied Tom.
And now Tom has said he hopes they can team up again in the future, quipping that he thinks the mum of three could even headline Glastonbury and that he’d love to be her warm-up act.
During an interview on ITV’s Good Morning Britain, Tom was asked by hosts Susanna Reid and Richard Bacon whether viewers will see them taking to the stage together again.
The star replied with a laugh: “I’m sure I’ll be opening for her at Glasto next year, you know what I mean?”
Adding that he’s not sure how he will ever top the moment during the rest of his career, Tom said: “I might have peaked now. Somebody suggested a duet with the Pope, but I’m not sure that’s going to happen!”
Tom also opened up about how the duet came about, explaining that Kate’s team came to him about the collaboration.
He said: “We did a charity event together called Act on Addiction. I was playing my song there, Leave a Light on, in support and the Duchess was doing a speech.”
“We had met a little bit before but we got chatting at that event and I was approached after that to ask if I could play the carol service.”
“At first they wanted my song Leave a Light On but then we sent the team my Christmas song, which nobody had heard at this point, and they absolutely loved it.”

“The Duchess’ team asked if she could join me on piano and accompany me for the concert live, which was just incredible."
Tom went on to reveal that he and Kate then had “top-secret” rehearsals at Metropolis Studios to prepare for the big night.
He said: “She’s fantastic. A really, really talented musician. We had a rehearsal together, a top secret rehearsal just to make sure that we were both confident playing with each other.”
This comes after fans flocked to social media to praise Kate on her secret piano skills when the show aired on ITV on Friday 24 December.
One impressed viewer tweeted: “As if we couldn’t love Kate Middleton any more! She played the piano beautifully.”
Another wrote: “Absolutely fair play to #KateMiddleton for playing the piano there!”
While a third viewer penned: “Kate Middleton playing the piano is not something I thought I needed,” followed with a heart-eye emoji.
