Ulrika Jonsson, 54, has called out Jack Grealish, calling him a “golden boy” after his rumoured love interests have been targets for online abuse this week. Jack is reportedly dating both actress Emily Atack and former Love Island star Amber Gill, while still in a relationship with his childhood sweetheart Sasha Atwood.
Misogyny is still the highest scorer.
Ulrika, having gone through something similar in the past when she had an affair with former England manager Sven-Goran Eriksson felt the need to comment on the situation.
The TV personality even compared her own experience to the Man City footballer’s situation.
Speaking in her column with The Sun she said: “Supposed trysts with actress Emily Atack and Love Islander Amber Gill, away from his long-term girlfriend Sasha, have come to the fore.
“As per usual, there is pity for the long-term girlfriend, with Emily and Amber being trolled for purportedly ‘stealing’ him.
“But all the while, Jack remains a golden boy in the England team, while the rest of the world awaits handbags at 20 paces between the women.
She continued: “Misogyny is still the highest scorer.”
When Ulrika had an affair with Sven, she and his then-wife Nancy Dell’Olio were pitted against each other in the tabloids, with Ulrika using football analogies to explain this.
She added that reports at the time “turned a tale of a weak, selfish man into a story about two desperate women”.
Ulrika at the time confirmed the rumours of her affair and was given a column in The News of the World at the time.
When Sven left as England manager in 2007, Ulrika lost her column.
Ulrika has regularly spoken about her affair, telling intimate stories about the couple’s love life.
Replying to this in 2013, his ex Nancy said: “That made me smile.
“That was her experience? If the sex was bad, maybe it was her fault.”
Similarly, Amber and Emily are going through the same thing at the moment with the Love Island star commenting on the death threats she has been sent.
Taking to Instagram yesterday in view of her 2.6 million followers she wrote: “After the headlines yesterday making it look like I had given an interview saying ‘I’m the other, other woman’ I have received hundreds of abusive messages and DEATH threats.
“For absolute clarity and in MY words, I’ve never been the ‘other woman’ nor will I ever be.
“And I would also never use the degrading term ‘other woman’ either (like we are collectible trophies for men!).”
She continued: “‘How quickly can you forget your OWN mental health campaign?? #bekind.”
Amber said that she “chose to ignore the headlines”, but she’d begun to feel “more and more angry and upset”, leading her to post about the situation.
Emily has not commented on the rumours.
Express.co.uk have contacted representatives of Jack Grealish, Emily Atack and Amber Gill for comment.
