Blogger Georgina Grogan shared an image of the purple knickers, captioning it: "We can see ur padding @ASOS."
The lingerie in question is a pair of purple lace and satin knickers by Ann Summers, available on ASOS for £16.
And since the tweet was posted yesterday, it's been shared a number of times, with other social media users voicing their opinions on the image.
One wrote: "OMG just hire women who actually fit in the clothing of your plus size range. Jesus."
While another said: "Not surprised. Not one of their Curve range models are even chubby, let alone fat. It’s ridiculous. I want to see how the clothes are going to look on my 18-20 body, not on a 10-12 model wearing a fat suit. Sort it out @ASOS."
Other users were furious, with one commenting: "It’s mad that large company’s such as ASOS let things like this happen.
"Why not get women that fit the clothing!? I’ve seen so many models being pinned into clothes for the website photos. It’s false advertising"
One user however, offered a different perspective, sharing an image from the back and commenting: "In this photo (for the matching bra) you can see she has a little roll right around there.
"Maybe it’s that with weird lighting? Hopefully?"
While another said: "As someone who has worked for a plus size lingerie brand. Even the plus models get padded sometimes because the lingerie has a bad fit and isn't fit for purpose."
From Curve collections to pledging never to airbrush its models last year, ASOS has recently been praised for its diversity and inclusivity.
In response to the accusations, the brand told Cosmopolitan: "The images on site show the model's natural body shape as it is with no padding or adjustment made."
Fabulous Online has contacted both ASOS and Ann Summers for comment.
Earlier this week, we told you about the student who was gutted after the PrettyLittleThing dress she ordered online actually looks like a high-vis tent.
We also revealed ASOS is selling a dupe of Dior’s iconic £1,700 saddle bag for just £20.
And we showed you Fashion Nova has been accused of Photoshopping out a model’s vagina in see-through swimsuit shot.
