How to dry your bedding and towels as the weather gets colder without spending a lot of money on heating, from an expert | The Sun

AN EXPERT has revealed how to effectively dry your bedding and towels as the temperatures begin to drop.

As the cost-of-living crisis continues to soar, many cash-strapped families across the UK are struggling to keep up with the energy bills – and for many, this makes drying laundry almost impossible.

Luckily, one whizz, Ann Russell, has come to rescue with a few tips and tricks to speed up the process and ensure your garments don;t have that damp smell.

According to the cleaning pro, there are a couple of things to keep in mind when it comes to indoor drying, such as ''washing little but often''.

After the cycle has finished, Ann advised to put the towels and bedding in for a few spins ''to get out a bit more water''.

''Couple of hard spins if you have to,'' she told her 2.5million followers in the video posted on TikTok.

Although it might be tempting to then place the wet garments over your radiators, this is a big no – not only can the evaporated water lead to mould, but energy prices are still high.

Instead, the pro recommended putting the items on hangers and dry them on door frames and finding a fan to create a constant airflow.

''And as long as it's not raining, crack open your windows, so that the damp air you are creating you're evaporating.''

Just as key during the colder winter months is snapping up a dehumidifier – this nifty little device will soak up all the moisture and prevent your home from going mouldy.
