I bought second hand shoes for my daughter on Vinted but they were so grubby – my 20p trick had them sparkling again | The Sun

A MUM has revealed the secret ingredient she used to get her shoes looking sparkling white again.

Rebecca, a mum-of-two from the UK, shared the easy cleaning hack on her TikTok account (@journeytomumof2) and people couldn't wait to try it for themselves.

The mum spotted a bargain buy on the second hand selling app, Vinted that she couldn't resist.

She found a bundle of Adidas and Converse trainers for just £2 for her daughter and decided she couldn't miss out on the bargain despite both trainers being covered in stains.

In the video, Rebecca said: "So I bought this £2 bundle of shoes on Vinted, it had got blue stains on and they were filthy these converse.

"These little Adidas ones as well were also filthy but for £2 I knew that I could save them."

The cleaning whizz first started by filling the sink with hot water before adding her secret ingredient, Napisan.

Napisan is a detergent specially formulated to use on baby clothes as it can kill germs at even low temperatures.

She added some detergent powder to the sink, adding: "Napisan is the key to all trainer washing, it is absolutely incredible stuff.

"And if you don't know it, get to know it."

Once she soaked the shoes in the solution for an hour she took a cheap nail brush and began scrubbing the shoes.

She added: "I just started scrubbing the shoes with a nail brush this one was literally just from the pound shop it wasn't anything special."

After scrubbing most of the stains off, the mum put the shoes on a 60 degrees washing cycle and left them to dry on the radiator.

Rebecca than showed off the final results of the shoes and she was seriously impressed.

She said: "Oh, my god. These converse look incredible.

"I can't believe how clean they are, and these Adidas ones."

The video has since gone viral with over 156k views and over 8,000 likes.
