A TIKTOK foodie has delighted fans by putting Aldi’s McDonald’s dupes to a taste test against the real deals.
Grace Booth is a restaurant- and takeaway-reviewing influencer who regularly shares everything from her favourite dishes to simple recipes with her 332k followers on her account @GraceBooth97.
And in a recent series of clips, she tried out some of Aldi’s budget dupes of iconic McDonald’s staples to see how they compared to their lip-smackingly good inspiration.
The first fast-food staple she reviewed was the budget supermarket’s version of a Big Mac, which Aldi have inventively named Big Stack.
On removing the item from its packaging, Grace immediately seemed unconvinced about the “questionable” looking burger.
To construct the frozen burger, you simply microwave the patties and toast the bun, before layering it with the American-style cheese.

There’s also a mayonaise you prepare by placing it in hot water, which the foodie confesses “actually smells freakishly like the Big Mac sauce”.
Microwave for another 30 seconds, and you indeed have a burger that looks just like a Big Mac – only Aldi’s version comes in at £1.79, compared to McDonald’s’ £4.99 offering.
“I was really dubious about that,” Grace admitted after taking a bite out of the supermarket dupe.
“You can definitely tell it’s not a Big Mac,” she continues, pointing out that it has none of the salad garnish that comes with the original, “but they’ve done a really good job.”

The next product that Grace decided to test was the supermarket’s Crispy Chicken Strips, which are a dupe of the fast-food chain’s iconic Chicken Selects.
“I am a ride or die Chicken Select lover,” the foodie gushes, “like they are my favourite thing that McDonald’s do by miles.”
“So these better live up to expectations,” she jokes.
Aldi’s version comes in a four-pack – McDonald’s only do three or five – and includes a BBQ sauce much like the one you can pick up from the restaurant.
There’s also quite a considerable price difference: three Chicken Selects from McDonald’s cost £3.56, while Aldi’s cost just £2.49 – and you get an extra tender.
And according to Grace, they’re “very similar” to the McDonald’s version, even down to the flecks of herbs in the coating.
“They are a lot more convincing than the Big Mac we tried,” she suggests.
“There’s no a lot in it,” the chicken critic confessed after taking a bite of both of the offerings.
“The outside is really nice and crispy and crunchy; oh my gosh, they’re like exactly the same.”
