CELEBRATE your mom with a last-minute DIY gift this Mother's Day 2022.
Pampering moms on Mother's Day is necessary, but it can certainly get expensive. Kammy, 20, from the San Francisco Bay area, shows us how to treat our moms with a budget on her TikTok account, kammymakora.
She got to work with a container, plastic flowers, tissue paper, chocolates, and a Mother's Day card, all under $15.
The National Retail Federation says that people will set records for spending on Mother's Day 2022.
Spending will be around $31.7 billion this year, according to a survey by the NRF. That amount is $3.6 billion higher than last year. In 2019, Forbes reported that the average spend per person was $196.
Kammy shared her DIY project in two social media videos with her TikTok followers, reaching over one million views.
In the first video, Kammy walked into the Dollar Tree for the supplies, a container, tissue paper, floral foam, fake flowers, and a couple more items. The most expensive item was the chocolate, priced around $5.
After she had all the items needed, it was time to put all the pieces together for the perfect DIY Mother's Day gift.
She started by placing the colorful tissue paper inside the container.
"I'd recommend stacking three, put them on top of each other, scrunch, and put that in," Kammy said about the tissue paper.
Kammy continues with two more layers of tissue paper on top before sticking the foam into the container.
Once those items are placed elegantly into the container, she sticks the flowers and skewered chocolates into the foam.
In the comments, people had some suggestions of their own.
"Bro, I'm doing this for my suerga. TYSM!!" one person wrote.
"It's very cute! Don't be so critical of your work," another mentioned.
