I’m a hair expert, you’ve been cleaning your brush all wrong – the pulling out hair method isn't enough | The Sun

A HAIR expert has shared how everyone that simply pulls stray hairs out of their brush is cleaning the accessory very wrong.

Instead, there’s a method he swears by that ensures they are germ free and ready to be used again and again.

Hair stylist Matt decided to set the record straight after witnessing so many people making the same mistake.

Matt, aka TikTok user @mattloveshair, posted a hack video in which he was seen taking the rogue locks out of a round brush.

As he did so, he explained: “A gentle reminder that pulling the hair out of your brush is not the same as cleaning your brush.”

Instead, Matt instructed his followers to follow his lead and really remove the build-up for dirt.

First, he walked into the bathroom and made his way over to the sink.

While there, he explained: “To truly clean your brushes, soak them in warm water with a bit of shampoo swirled into the mix

“After the brush has been soaked, rinse off the soapy water and scrub the base of each brush to get all the gunk off of it.”

Matt then took a hand towel and placed it by the side of the sink.
