DO you ever feel like you're doing more harm than good when you're cleaning your home?
While this may be a lazy cop-out for some, it can actually be the case, according to cleaning experts.
TikTok user Sana, who runs the account A Piece Of My Glam Home, shared the top six mistakes people always make when cleaning their house.
The first tip related to a household item commonly used to clean surfaces throughout the home.
"Don’t use vinegar to clean natural stones such as quartz, marble, or granite," Sana told her followers.
The acidity of vinegar can etch the smooth surfaces of these stones and ruin them.

Sana's next suggestion involved a cleaning product found in every home.
"Don’t mix bleach with dish soap," the TikToker advised viewers.
Dish soap contains ammonia which, when mixed with bleach, makes a toxic gas called chloramine, which can lead to chest pain and shortness of breath.
She also said: "Don’t mix bleach with baking soda or rubbing alcohol."

While baking soda also works to create chloramine, rubbing alcohol and bleach makes chloroform, which causes damage to your eyes, lungs, and liver.
Another mistake to avoid is using a steam mop on your hardwood floors as it can damage the wood.
She also recommended taking extra precautions when cleaning your stainless steel surfaces.
"Don’t wipe stainless steel appliances against the grain. Cleaning against the grain can scratch the surface," she said.
According to the cleaning expert, you may also want to rethink the items you're adding to your dishwasher.
Exposing wooden utensils to the high heat and moisture of a long washing cycle can cause them to warp, splinter, and eventually break.
Sana also revealed that using laundry stain remover on carpets is a major no-no.
"It leaves a sticky residue that's a magnet for dirt!" she told her followers.
