A FITNESS fanatic in her mid-sixties is still lifting heavy weights and has no intention of lightening her load.

She is unstoppable in the gym and makes one-legged squats look easy.


This muscle-rippling lady wants to stay as strong as she can for as long as possible.

And there is a urgent motivation to keep on track.

"Assisted living's not my jam," admitted Stephanie (@seniorstrong).

By staying strong, supple, and in shape, she hopes to remain active and independent for many years to come.

The medical profession would be impressed by her efforts.

Pumping iron really could make a big difference as we age.

Sharp.com wrote about the importance of weight training as we grow older.

They reported that: "After middle age, people lose between 3% and 5% of their muscle mass per decade.

They concluded: "So it is imperative to maintain muscle mass throughout life."

Stephanie is ahead of the curve. Her attitude has inspired a lot of people and she has built a following of over 165,000 followers.

On her platform she describes herself as: “Strong, sexy and 65," and shares her love for health and fitness.

In her post, dressed in workout gear, she said: "As my 66th birthday gets closer, my choice is still a simple one.

“Strength train at least five times a week because assisted living is just not my jam."

She urged others to follow her lead: “Be unstoppable. Start strength training today.”

Sia's hit, Unstoppable, provided an appropriate backing track.

It was never too late either, she figured: “I started at 31 but with every passing year it’s so important to continue building muscle mass.

"But once I hit my 60s I started lifting even heavier weights."

Her workout would knock many younger contenders out of the park, and she made it look so easy.

Lift ups, press ups, one-legged squats, she barely broke out into a sweat.

Her post had 65,000 likes and lots of admiration.

One person said: “You are amazing. I’ve just started weight training at 52 and can see a slight improvement. Thanks for giving me inspiration."

Confirmation that it made a difference for this viewer: “Do it, ladies. I started weight training consistently a year ago at 47. My body is completely different. Can’t wait until next year.”
