Royal Family members including Kate Middleton, Meghan Markle and Princess Eugenie have vast jewellery collections, with pieces including bracelets, rings, necklaces and brooches. According to recent research, the most popular ring belongs to Meghan Markle.

According to jewellery experts at Steven Stone, Meghan Markle currently has the most popular engagement ring out of a list of 200 celebrities, including Royal Family members.

Using a tool to explore the number of average monthly and annual Google searches on engagement rings in the UK, the company was able to find out who had the most popular ring.

Meghan Markle’s three stone ring, which took first place, had a huge monthly search of nearly 7,000.

Prince Harry proposed to Meghan back in 2017 while spending time together in Kensington Palace.

Harry got down on one knee while the two were roasting a chicken together.

Meghan added: “It was just an amazing surprise. It was so sweet and natural and very romantic.”

The Prince presented the Duchess with a gorgeous trilogy engagement ring, thought to be worth a huge £134,500.

The ring has since been updated, with it now featuring one large diamond on a thin band.

In second place was Kate Middleton, who’s engagement ring previously belonged to Princess Diana.

According to the jewellery experts, the Ceylon sapphire had a monthly search volume of nearly 2,500.

Kate Middleton’s 12-carat engagement ring was created by British jeweller Garrad and was chosen by Prince Charles for his proposal to Diana.

It has been valued at different prices over the years, with a recent study from jewellery experts at EST1897 claiming it could be worth as much as £390,000.

The Duchess of Cambridge now wears the ring alongside her Welsh gold wedding band.

Diamond expert, Max Stone, commented: “It’s surprising to see Meghan Markle above Kate Middleton, as the famous sapphire ring has driven sales of sapphire engagement rings in the last few years.

“However, Meghan has recently updated her ring to include her family’s birthstones, which again is increasing the demand for birthstone engagement rings.

“This year, we’ve seen a 50 percent increase in sales for birthstone rings, suggesting it’s becoming a huge trend for 2022.”

Surprisingly, Princess Eugenie came sixth on the list, with her engagement ring from Jack Brooksbank receiving around 900 monthly searches.

The royal’s ring features a beautiful padparadscha sapphire, surrounded by diamonds.

It bears a close resemblance to the engagement ring that Princess Andrew gave Eugenie’s mother, Sarah.

Princess Eugenie’s sister, Beatrice, also has a stunning engagement ring.

Beatrice became engaged to Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in 2019 and the couple tied the knot last year.

The beautiful ring, designed by Shaun Leane, featured a platinum band with diamond stones.
