My free style trick makes tights so much easier to pull up – there's nothing worse than ripping them as you put them on | The Sun

AS the fall rolls around, it’s time for us to whip out our tights and stockings to put together a few chic cool-weather looks.

Though these accessories can instantly elevate any fit, they also often bring on a dreaded wardrobe malfunction: rips.

Hoping to help fashion girls everywhere, a stylist (@stylexfox) shared her tip to avoid ripping your tights as you put them on.

“Stop wearing your tights like this,” she began in the clip, demonstrating how most women slip into the undergarments and begin trying to raise them at the waist.

She said this is exactly how you create unwanted snags, holes, and runs in the thin fabric.

“Pulling tights from the top can rip the tights and it’s hard to grasp the tights to roll them [up].”

Instead, she said her method will ensure your pair fits snug and looks smooth.

“Run your hands under the faucet and try to roll or pinch the stocking now.”

To prove how well it worked, she used her damp finger to slowly lift her tights, start from her calf and moving up to her waist, so that they were spread across her leg evenly.

She pinched and rose every now and then to get more traction as well.

Unlike the old way, which involved wiggling and sliding, this method looked seamless.

“The water makes the tights stick to your hands, so it is SO much easier to pull them up,” she explained.

Proud of her hack, she dressed up the tights with a leather skirt, biker vest, and combat boots.

Viewers appreciated the advice.

“Omg thank you,” one wrote, with another echoing, “Great tip.”
