‘Not very flattering’ – Princess Victoria of Sweden divides fans

Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden is currently in Kenya on a state visit to the country. Yesterday, the 45-year-old visited the Swedish Embassy in Nairobi, the nation’s capital. For the occasion, she wore a colourful dress covered in flowers.

The dress had a high, ruffled neck with bell sleeves and ruffles at the end of the sleeves.

It also had ruffles around the centre of the bodice, similar to a belt.

The skirt billowed outward in subtle pleats, reaching Victoria’s ankles.

The garment was a light purple, lilac colour and was covered in multicoloured flowers, leaves, and butterflies.

The motifs were mostly purple, green, red, orange, and pink.

Called the Adriana Dress, the garment is from Scandinavian brand By Malina.

The dress is no longer available on the label’s webiste, but when it was in stock, the brand described it, saying: “Adriana dress is one of our key styles this season.

“Wear it with a pair of sneakers and a leather jacket to work, or with elegant stilettos for your best friend’s wedding. The wow-effect this dress has is one of a kind, you will both feel and look your absolute best.”

Victoria matched the dress with an Anya Hindmarch clutch bag called the Valorie Clutch in Metallic. It was box-shaped and had a small, gold buckle as its clasp.

On her feet, the royal donned a pair of sandals from a brand called Rizzo, named the Elvira Sandals.

They were light pink and had a block heel and frills on the toes.

But it was Victoria’s earrings that stood out the most out of all her accessories: they were large stud earrings in the shape of white flowers with a blood red centre.

The flowers covered Victoria’s whole lobe and rested against her jawline.

As for her beauty look, the Princess had pinned her dark locks back in a neat bun, and she wore minimal make-up, except for lashings of mascara, a little eyeliner, and light purple eyeshadow.

Her lipgloss was always a subtle lilac, and she had coloured in her dark eyebrows.

Royal fans were quick to comment on Victoria’s look, with some praising her for a bold dress, while others were not as impressed.

User @timmy_tabbycat wrote: “I know this is about fashion, but sometimes I wish Crown Princess Victoria would do something more about her hairstyle.”

User @plbatch56 commented: “The pattern is pretty and the shoes and earrings are perfect for the dress.”

User @etranger_dans_un_pays_etrange said: “Very pretty. Gives a nice feminine vibe.” Catherine Duncan added: “Not very flattering, it’s a no from me.”
