We live in a tiny floating home with our dog – we have handmade spoons as decor & our sink is made out of a river pebble | The Sun

AN eccentric woman has left others longing for a life on the water after giving a tour of her beautiful floating home.

Michaela (@michaela. cordes) has been cruising the British waterways with her husband Marlon and their dog on the Swan Goddess narrowboat for over a year.

She has garnered over 22,000 followers on TikTok, where she gives an insight into her life since they embraced nature and left behind their comfortable four-bedroom house.

The couple explained on YouTube that they were inspired to leave behind their careers and moved onto the boat with just one bag each after experiencing stress-related health issues.

Michaela took to the social media platform to give a glimpse inside their narrowboat after settling into their tranquil new lifestyle.

The nature lover stood barefoot in a green maxi dress as she waved for the camera to follow her around the boat.

Michaela said: “Please come in, this is our kitchen.

“You will see our fairy arch which separates our kitchen from our living space.

“The spoons are handmade by Marlon.

“For us, it’s really important to have just items that have a lot of meaning and thought in our tiny home.”

The kitchen had a casserole dish and kettle on the stovetop and was fitted with other cooking essentials such as an oven and chopping board.

Large windows provided natural lighting and the room also had space for a washing machine.

Walking into the living room, Michaela said: “Like this painting that he did a few years ago before we moved on to the Swan Goddess.

“You see here is our cozy corner with my spinning wheel and my loom directly beside the fire.

“As you can see all in all we have quite a lot of space for creating and living.”

The living room had a small dining table, television, and sofa, as well as space for crafting and a bookshelf.

She then walked into the bathroom which looked modern despite having mostly wooden decor.

She said: “Our bathroom has a shower, toilet, and this beautiful sink is made out of a river pebble.”

Michaela’s adorable dog led the tour as she walked towards the bedroom.

“What I love most about it is the view that I get every morning and every evening,” she said.

She captioned the post with hashtags including #slowliving, #narrowboatliving, and #alternativelifestyle.

Over 2.4million people watched the video and it received 131,000 likes.

One person commented: “This is a dream. This is what life is about.

“I feel like I am floating on clouds when I see your home. This is what we are created to live like.”
