IF we had to pick the household chore we hated most, it would be changing our bedsheets.
After all, it's time-consuming, fiddly and takes forever – but on the plus side, at least you get that clean bedding feeling afterwards.
Well if that's not enough to inspire you to change your bedding on the regular, then maybe this shocking stat will.
As Glamour reports, a study by Hammonds Furniture recently found that a third of Brits only change their bedding ONCE a year. Yep, you read that correctly.
Dr Kyle Grant- who founded sustainable laundry service Oxwash – revealed how often we should actually be completing this dull (but evidently rewarding) chore.
He said: "We spend a lot of time in our bed sheets – we’d advise washing them frequently, at least every week-ten days."
And as we approach the summer months, not changing your bedding enough could cause allergies to flare up.
Sealy UK's Chief Sleep Officer Neil Robinson added: "The average person washes their bed sheets once every two weeks, but in the summer months, twice a month is not enough to keep allergens at bay.
"In hayfever season, consider washing your sheets once a week to keep sheets free of pollen, as well as dust and other particles that might make symptoms worse."

Plus this mum said she’ll ‘never iron again’ thanks to ‘genius’ laundry hack – and all you need is some hangers.
