A bride was left stunned after she found a dupe of her bespoke wedding dress on the China-based online retailer AliExpress.
But rather than being livid about the much cheaper option — she decided to buy it and see how it compares to the real thing. Toni Norton, who went viral earlier this year for wanting to look naked on her wedding day, got married six months ago in a custom mesh and lace gown made by designer Alonuko.
However, the newlywed was left stunned after she received an email telling her there was a dupe of the dress being sold on AliExpress for a fraction of the cost. In a video, which gained more than 296,000 likes, she explained: "I got an email that my dress was on AliExpress being sold for a fraction of the cost.

"So I did what I think any respectable bride would do — I bought it. I wanted to see what kind of dress were they selling the people and if it was good or not."
The wife, who posts online as @newlynorton, decided to order the $200 dress and try it on. Although she feared it wouldn't fit as the retailer didn't ask for her measurements.
A few weeks went by and the dupe arrived. However there was a noticible difference in the product as soon as she opened it. She declared the "mesh is off" as she described it as "nasty work" and that it was missing the custom corset her dress had.
Her dress also looked very different when they were held side-by-side. However, she claims they got the silhouette right with the white lace so if someone could make the mesh work for them it wouldn't be a bad budget friendly option.

TikTok users were left floored by the dupe as they took to the comments to give their opinions. One user said: "The right person gonna pull off the dupe, watch! For $200, not bad. I mean it’s cute!"
Another added: "You see the big huge difference but it's gives the vibe." A third commented: "It's really not that bad." Meanwhile, a fourth wrote: "They are something else. Love that you did this but your dress will alway be top tier!!"
AliExpress has been approached for a comment.
