An American in Britain has revealed her most embarrassing moment since moving overseas after getting two similar words mixed up.
The woman's video has gone viral on X (formerly Twitter), after she explained her awkward story that happened while learning British slang.
The brunette, named Lisa, went online to explain that she hadn't lived in the UK very long when the incident occurred. She told people: "We were moving house and in the midst of this, I was also learning the lingo.

"I was trying to me cool and sound British and I had a really good friend of mine, a British friend that I'd made, and she was teaching me different slang words. I picked up on the word gaff. I also picked up on the word similar to that, but ending in -sh… g*sh, and got the two confused."
She continued: "I decided to have a housewarming party, created the WhatsApp group and called it 'Lisa G*sh Warming Party' and proceeded to invite family and friends."
The video has racked up more than 80,000 views this week since it's been shared, and many couldn't help but chuckle over the mistake. "Love this," exclaimed one person, while another added: "Whoops, oh dear. Still I bet the invite made you a popular girl."

A third also admitted: "Ok that cracked me up," while a third quipped: "Seems she caused a bit of a hoo-ha."
