A young woman has sparked a heated debate after revealing the ‘correct’ way to shower. 

Lovey Lee, from the US, was stunned to discover not everyone showers the same way. 

‘I’ve just been informed by my mum that there are two ways people shower, and we just realised we both do the opposite thing,’ she said in a TikTok video. 

‘Now I need to know, what is the normal way to shower?!’

The short video quickly caught the attention of the masses as many shared their opinion on the topic.

‘Now I need to know, what is the normal way to shower?!’ she captioned a now-viral TikTok video which ignited a debate among thousands 

In the clip Lovey explained she faces away from the showerhead, so the water trickles onto her hair then down her back. 

‘Of course I’ll turn around occasionally and move around,’ she said. 

But her mother primarily faces the water to let it flow onto her face and body. 

The realisation shocked both mother and daughter as well as thousands on TikTok. 

‘I feel like the normal way to shower is with the shower head behind you.. is anyone else surprised by this?’ Lovey continued. 

‘It all started when I was asking for her advice cause we’re redoing our shower. I was like where should we put the shower bench? 

‘She was like, “Don’t you want the shower bench behind you so you can put your leg up while you’re showering?”’ But Lovey was left confused.   

After 48 hours the TikTok video exceeded an eyewatering 3.6million views

One comment was liked a staggering 47,000 times 

Others said they tend to turn around in the shower 

Another said facing the water is ‘supreme’ while one dubbed it as ‘unhinged’ behaviour

Many questioned why anyone would want to shower facing the water

One woman was shocked to discover her fiancé showers sideways

After 48 hours the video exceeded an eyewatering 3.6million views. 

‘Water facers, unite!’ one commented, but another was confused and said: ‘People face the water?’  

‘Why are y’all showering backwards?’ a third said. 

‘I rotate continuously like a kebab,’ someone else said. 

Another said facing the water is ‘supreme’ while one dubbed it as ‘unhinged’ behaviour.

‘The water feels so good hitting your back,’ another said. 

‘Face away from the water except for washing face obviously. So interesting,’ one wrote.
