Billie Eilish celebrated Halloween a bit early this year.

The 19-year-old pop star shocked the world in March when she ditched her signature black-and-green hair color for a platinum blond shag.

Eilish began the process of dyeing her hair two months prior to the big reveal, and used a wig to cover up the transition — but not just any wig.

In an interview on “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” this week, the singer confessed that she “was wearing a Billie Eilish wig” during her previous appearance on the program in February.

“From black to blond [is a] big thing. To do it right and to do it where you’re not murdering your hair and keeping it healthy, I did the first process and then waited two weeks so it could heal and then again, and then waited two weeks…,” she explained.’ allowfullscreen=’true’ style=’border:0;’ sandbox=’allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation’>

“I knew that it would have these processing periods where it would look insane, and I didn’t want to look insane. But I needed something quick, so I literally ordered a Billie Eilish Halloween costume wig on Amazon.”

Though the costume did the trick in fooling eagle-eyed fans — and Eilish later swapped it for a professional hairpiece — it came at a cost.

“It was awful. It was the ugliest thing I’ve ever seen,” she said. “[But] I just looked f—king crazy underneath there and I needed to look not crazy.”

The hair transformation marks that start of a “new era” for the Grammy winner, who set the internet ablaze when she covered the June issue of British Vogue in pinup-inspired lingerie and platinum waves.

Her new album, “Happier Than Ever,” will be out July 30.
