Bluegrass legend Sam Bush shares a playlist of his classic contributions

A new Amazon documentary “Revival: The Sam Bush Story” traces the life of the mandolinist, bluegrass legend and “King of Telluride.”

To celebrate its release, Bush created a playlist for USA TODAY of many of his favorite songs he’s played on, music that has also inspired his contemporaries along the way.

Bill Monroe, “My Last Days on Earth”

Bill’s most haunting melody played in a mandolin style called “cross tuning.” Played as only Bill could.

New Grass Revival, “Can’t Stop Now”

Recorded at the height of our creativity and energy.

Emmylou Harris & the Nash Ramblers, “Walls of Time”

From our Grammy Award-winning record, “Live at the Ryman.”
