A young bride has broken down in tears over her mother’s touching surprise that was sewed into her wedding dress after the sudden death of her father.

Natalie Crockett Jimenez, 25, was getting her gown adjusted by her mother, Devona, when she was told to look at the bottom of her dress.

Stitched into the dress was a blue heart with the words, ‘I love you Natalie, Daddy,’ and the pharmacist, from Missouri, immediately recognized it as her late father’s handwriting and burst into tears that lasted for the next 30 minutes.

Natalie’s father Bruce died from a sudden blood clot in 2015, and Devona had found his note in her daughter’s yearbook and got it digitalized.

Her mother, Devona, got his handwriting digitalized and sewed into the gown. The text reads, ‘I love you Natalie, Daddy,’ inside a blue heart

She then cut out a blue heart from his T-shirt and took it to her daughter’s seamstress to create the overwhelmingly sweet gift ahead of her August 12 wedding.

‘Is this his handwriting? Mom, how’d you get the handwriting?’ Natalie asked in between her tears. ‘Your yearbook,’ her mother replied.

Previously, Natalie had searched for her father’s handwriting for years and had forgotten that one note.

She was overcome with emotion and thanked her mother for the touching gesture.

‘It’s been hardest on her to lose my dad and she has been the one to pick up everything and glue it back together, so none of this would be possible without her, and I love her so much,’ Natalie told Good Morning America recently.

On TikTok, the moving 37-second-long clip has had more than 3.2 million views and 452,000 likes.

Natalie’s followers also expressed their awe over the emotional surprise.

One person wrote: ‘I just wanna squeeze you every time I watch this. Losing a parent is hard but so happy you have such a sweet, thoughtful momma.’

Another added: ‘Oh my goodness I’m tearing up that is the sweetest!’

A third commented, ‘Y’all got me crying,’ while one person wrote: ‘Made me cry that was so precious.’

But the blue heart wasn’t the only tribute Natalie had for her big day to commemorate her father.

She also carried the locket he gave her, had a white balloon, a picture slideshow at the wedding reception and a symbolic father-of-the-bride place card at the table.

Her brother-in-law created a special painting of Natalie in her wedding dress alongside her dad’s most recent picture.

Natalie’s first thought after learning the devastating news of her father’s passing was realizing he wouldn’t be attending her wedding. Her family’s personalized touches helped comfort her on the special day.

In 2021, Natalie made a lengthy and emotional caption about what she misses most about her dad, such as his ‘sincere excitement’ about her ‘achievements no matter how little or big’

This isn’t the first time that Natalie has wanted to share a milestone with her late father. After she graduated from college in 2023 she went to his tombstone post-ceremony.

In 2021, Natalie posted a lengthy and emotional caption about what she misses most about her dad ranging from his ‘sincere excitement’ about her ‘achievements no matter how little or big, bird watching’ and ‘back-scratching sessions.’

She went on to vulnerably share in her Facebook post: ‘Six years without you just seems unreal. It literally takes my breath away to think about it. If feels like I lost you yesterday. But it also feels like it’s been an eternity since I’ve seen you.

‘I’ll never stop missing you and everything that you were and I will always cherish the memories that we have. I love you.’

Their first dinner date took place at Los Portales and their second one was a hike. Afterwards, Uriel asked Natalie to be his girlfriend in his truck.
