Bride’s heartbreak as wedding venue collapses into administration just two days before she was due to walk down the aisle
A bride-to-be is left heartbroken as her chosen wedding venue in the Welsh countryside collapses into administration just two days before she was due to walk down the aisle.
Bookings dating back at least two years have had to be cancelled because the historic Miskin Manor hotel in Pontyclun, near Cardiff, has gone into administration due to ‘cashflow pressures’.
One wedding which was due to take place on Saturday, was cancelled yesterday evening – leaving the heartbroken couple having to search for a new venue with just one day to go.
A number of other local wedding venues have offered their support to anyone affected by cancellations.
In a statement the administrators confirmed they were called in by RCA Hotels Limited, trading as Miskin Manor Hotel.

The company describes it as ‘a Grade II listed, AA four star hotel, set in 25 acres of award winning grounds and incredibly manicured gardens, surrounded by glorious Welsh countryside.’
Joint administrator Diana Frangou said: ‘Due to cashflow pressures, the directors took the hard decision to place the company into administration.
‘Regretfully, and since taking on the administration, certain operational difficulties at the hotel have resulted in an unavoidable cancellation of some key events at the venue in the very short term.
‘We are extremely sorry for the distress this has caused for all involved. We are seeking to resolve this promptly and to start trading again as soon as possible.
‘We will be in touch with all customers who have bookings to provide further information. The joint administrators’ immediate strategy is to stabilise the operating position to enable the hotel to trade.’
