One year on since welcoming their first child together, it appears wedding bells are now on the horizon for Charlotte Crosby and Jake Ankers, after the couple announced the exciting news that they’re officially engaged!
The Geordie Shore star shared the exciting news with her fans on Thursday, 2 November, when she revealed that Jake had popped the all-important question at the end of a romantic evening together.
Sharing a photo which revealed Jack getting down and one knee and holding out a ring to her, Charlotte looked nothing short of surprised as she held both hands up to her face.
Captioning the photo, Charlotte sweetly wrote: "Happiest woman in the world"
"Yes yes yes and yes @jake_ankers you are my best friend you are my life i CANT BELIEVE IM ENGAGED AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHh. Best night ever”.
The surprising news comes after Charlotte had predicted an engagement was on the cards this year, as she previously told The Sun ahead of her daughter Alba’s birth last October, that she believed she and Jake would be engaged before the end of 2023.
The reality star said: "I will be engaged by the end of next year. I am telling you now, I will be engaged by the end of next year. If he could Jake would propose to us now but I tell him no. I don't like to do too much at once."
Charlotte added: "I like to have lovely long celebrations of each milestone in life and I don’t think there is any need to rush.
"I think even the end of next year would be a bit of a rush. I am about to have a baby, so let’s celebrate that, do you know what I mean.”
Hot on the heels of the exciting news for the couple, here, we take a closer look back at their relationship timeline.
First meeting
When Jake and Charlotte first met each other, Charlotte was still reeling from a messy breakup with her ex-boyfriend Liam Beaumont, and how vowed she would stay single after being heartbroken too many times in the past.
However, that stance didn’t appear to last too long, as Charlotte quickly fell head over heels for Mancunian businessman Jake Ankers, who famously worked as a celebrity driver.
The pair originally met after being introduced by mutual friends and soon discovered they had plenty of chemistry and enjoyed hanging out with each other.
Over time, their friendship soon blossomed into something more, with the couple embarking on a new romance together in late 2021.
Going public
After dating casually at first, the couple finally decided to go public with their romance in January 2022, when they confirmed that they were officially dating each other.
Despite confirming their romance, the couple still preferred to keep their relationship out of the spotlight, as they enjoyed some time away from the watchful eyes of the public.
However, Charlotte did reveal a little more about her relationship in April 2022, when she answered a fan’s question on Instagram about how long she and Jake had been dating.
Charlotte then explained: "7 month. It feels like a year the amount of stuff we've already experienced and been through together trust.
"Actually I think it's technically only 6 and a half but I like to round up."
Baby joy
Three months on since announcing she and Jake were dating, Charlotte was able to share a very special announcement with her fans when she revealed the couple were expecting their first child together.
The former Geordie Shore star, shared the heartwarming news on Instagram, where she posted a sweet video showcasing her pregnancy so far.
She wrote alongside the post: “A moment I wasn’t sure would ever be mine Is here, it’s mine (and Jakes) and i couldn’t be happier to be sharing it with you all……Im having a baby.”
After documenting much of her pregnancy online, Charlotte safely delivered a healthy baby girl named Alba in October 2022.
Engagement announcement
And as if adjusting to parenthood wasn’t enough of a change for the happy couple, just one year on from Alba’s birth, Jake got down on one knee to propose to Charlotte!
The sweet moment was captured on camera and shared on Instagram, with Charlotte seen wearing a stunning sequinned mini dress as she stood beside a heart shaped archway covered in roses.
Following the news of the engagement, fans rushed to send their congratulations as one penned: "OMG congratulations this is so beautiful", while another said: "Awww huge congratulations to you both so happy for yous".
Fellow Geordie Shore star James Tindale wrote: "Amazing news congratulations! I’m absolutely made up for you both", while Nathan Henry wrote: "Congratulations guys xx".
