David Tanaka’s (Takaya Honda) time is running out in Neighbours, as Emma McIver (Jessica Clarke) instructs her prisoner pal Dan Waskett to kill him before night’s end.
Emma, as viewers know, has been demanding that Freya Wozniak (Phoebe Roberts) tend to injured associates of hers, as a way of making up for her role in Gareth Bateman’s death.
Freya agreed to do so, aware that if she didn’t, Emma would ensure that David suffered during his time behind bars.
Things took a turn, however, as Freya was unable to assist Emma last week due to her court appearance taking place on the same day, and thus Emma made her presence felt, having David targeted in prison.
David, meanwhile, was given an opportunity to secure his freedom, after Andrew Rodwell (Lloyd Will) tasked him with wearing a wire while banged up in a bid to try and catch out the corrupt guard on his wing.
Horror ensued, however, as David was left alone in the company of inmate Dan, who held him captive at the request of Emma.
Emma, meanwhile, burst into No. 24, where she held Freya, Kiri Durant (Gemma Bird Mattheson) and later Nicolette Stone (Charlotte Chimes) at gunpoint.
The villain ordered Freya to tend to her mate Austin Julians, who was suffering from a severe gun shot wound, but Freya reiterated that she cannot perform surgery at home.
Emma therefore contacted Dan, who put David on the phone, hoping that this would be enough to convince Freya to perform the surgery.
The ‘Coming Up’ segment at the end of the episode, teasing what viewers can expect from Wednesday’s (July 13) edition of the soap, painted a bleak picture for David, as Emma sends Dan a text, instructing him to kill him!
Is David’s fate sealed? Will he die at the hands of Dan?
Or will Freya, Kiri and Nicolette manage to overpower a gun-toting Emma and inform the authorities of David’s imminent danger before it’s too late?
Neighbours continues Wednesday July 13 at 1:45pm and 6pm on Channel 5.
