‘Big Brother’ faced controversy
Over the last couple of years, live feed watchers have been critical of the people CBS casts on the show. Big Brother Season 22 was an all-stars edition which saw several veteran players return for another shot at the grand prize. Fans that watch the live feeds caught a moment on camera and accused one of the contestants of using a derogatory term.
The clip went viral as fans debated wether Memphis used the racial slur or not. It all became so controversial that the eye network was forced to release a rare statement about the video.
“We are aware of press reports about Big Brother fans on social media accusing a houseguest of whispering an offensive racial slur during the show’s 24/7 live feed,” the statement reads. “The producers have listened to the scene using enhanced audio. Additionally, the Network’s program practices team isolated and played back the scene several different ways using professional, studio-grade audio equipment.”
“After close examination, it has been determined a racial epithet was not said or uttered,” the statement continued. “Hate speech will not be tolerated, and those who violate the policy will be removed from the Big Brother House.”
Who won ‘Big Brother’ Season 22?
In the final 3 Cody, Enzo, and Nicole Franzel were left in the house. Nicole won the first part of the HOH competition, which guaranteed her a spot in the third part. Enzo lost to Cody in the second competition which meant the latter was still in the running for the last HOH of the season.
The HOH competition played out live and Cody won over Nicole. As the head of household, Cody ended up evicting Nicole from the house as he felt he had a better shot at winning against Enso. Cody’s intuition worked as he ended up winning the cash prize with all the jury members voting to crown him.
