It’s official, Laura Anderson is now a proud mum to a bouncing baby girl!
The 34 year old Love Island star revealed the happy news that her daughter had arrived safely on Instagram, as she shared a slew of images that showed the adorable tot alongside her elated parents.
The reality star, who shared her pregnancy journey exclusively with OK!, revealed the happy news that she and former flame Gary Lucy had welcomed their daughter, named Bonnie Rose Lucy Anderson on 2 September, with the little one weighing just 6.10lbs.
Having initially kept the news quiet for a few days to spend some quality time with their daughter, the smitten parents finally came clean about the new addition to the family on Thursday, 7 September.
But what exactly does the little one’s name mean?
According to baby name website Nameberry, Bonnie’s first name hails from Scotland, where Laura was born, and is a variant of Bonny, meaning “pretty” or “cheerful”.
Her second name Rose, however, has a more Latin origin and is named after the iconic rose flower, a classic and quintessentially English bloom.
In a nod to both her parents, Bonnie’s surname also features Lucy and Anderson, with Lucy itself meaning “light” while Anderson hails from Scandinavian roots, meaning “son of Anders.”
The name announcement was shared as part of a post which revealed Bonnie’s safe arrival into the world, with a carousel of photos documenting her first few days with her parents.
In a post sharing the announcement, Laura revealed that both she and Bonnie’s dad, Gary Lucy, were “soooo happy” with the news.
Sharing a photo alongside a caption from Bonnie herself, Laura wrote: “ Hi everyone, my name is Bonnie Rose Lucy Anderson.
"I was born 02/09/23 at 06.03am and weighed 6.10lbs My Mummy & Daddy are sooooo happy and in love with me, this is our first week together.
"I’m sorry it’s taken me some time to introduce myself, I hurt my mummy a little bit and scared my daddy too (oops) we’re all now recovering well at home."
The post ended with: "Please don’t question My Mummy & Daddy on their relationship- This.. is all about me."
This is the first child for Laura, while her Hollyoaks star ex has four children, India, Elvis, Sadie and Theodore, with ex wife Natasha.
Gary and Laura shared their happy baby news in February with an Instagram video of her showing off her blossoming baby bump alongside the caption: "Our hearts are full. Baby Lucy due Summer ’23.”
Just days after the announcement the couple confirmed they were no longer in a relationship, with Gary, 41, stating: "I love Laura but we are no longer together." He did however vow to be a present and hands on co-parent to their little one.
