Get ready to assemble! A new Lego Marvel moving is coming to Disney+ on Oct. 27.
Marvel tweeted out the news on Monday morning, alongside a teaser poster for the film showing red Lego blocks being constructed into the Avengers’ “A.” Marvel hasn’t yet released further details such as the film’s storyline or cast.
The upcoming special is the latest in a long-running string of Lego Marvel animated shorts, which started in 2013 with the 5-episode TV series “Lego Marvel Superheroes: Maximum Overload.” Since then, they’ve only released standalone 20-minute animated shorts: 2015’s ‘”Avengers Ressembled,” 2017’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” and 2018’s “Black Panther – Trouble in Wakanda.”
“Code Red” was first teased at Lego’s booth at SDCC, where they displayed the film poster in person.
While “Code Red” is likely to be another 20-minute short, it will at least hold die-hard Marvel fans over until the highly anticipated “The Marvels,” which sees Brie Larson reprise her role as Carole Danvers, in November. Also coming up this year in the Marvel Universe is “Loki” Season 2, out Oct. 6, and “What If…?” Season 2, “Echo” and “X-Men ’97” all due in early 2024.
In the meantime, all of the previous Marvel Lego shorts are currently available to stream on Prime Video. If you aren’t a Prime member, you can sign up for a 30-day free trial here.
