A massage instructor has shared her trick for getting a baby to fall asleep in two simple steps – so you won’t be tearing your hair out while your baby is crying.
The user on TikTok called Elina, who is a certified infant massage instructor – under the name @kahlmi – shared her simple technique that will help your baby drift off more easily.
In the video, Elina that this technique ‘works every time!’ – but does it actually?
Using a doll to demonstrate, Elina shows you how to simply rub your baby’s head in order to get them to sleep:
- Step 1: Glide Index finger from forehead to nose.
- Step 2: Gently rub eyebrows from inside to outside.

Elina has a number of videos up on her page that show you how to help your baby through various issues, such as colic, constipation, and deciphering their cries.
Since posting the original baby massage video, Elina has also posted another baby massage technique to get your baby to sleep.
In it, she reiterates the first two steps, but also adds a third technique, which involves pressing a small spot under your baby’s head, next to their ear, and rubbing circles into the spot.
The specific techniques used by Elina are not scientifically verified, but baby massage does reportedly have various benefits.
According to the National Childbirth Trust (NCT), it is both a good way to bond with your baby and can help their wellbeing.
They say: ‘Baby massage is the gentle, rhythmic stroking of your baby’s body using your hands. As part of a massage routine, you might gently manipulate your baby’s ankles, wrists and fingers.’

‘Today, there is widespread belief that baby massage can increase a mum’s awareness of her baby’s needs and support their early bond, as well as improve her sense of well-being if she is suffering with postnatal depression or other mental health issues.’
Additionally, the NCT wrote that many mums have reported better sleep for their babies with baby massage too but the evidence is anecdotal and not proven.
Many parents were loving this clip, and saying that her trick does in fact work.
Others thanked Elina for her trick, with one person writing: ‘Just tried this after almost an hour of her screaming fighting her sleep and did it three times, she closed her eyes and is asleep! Thank you.’
