Meghan Markle's awkward balcony incident with Prince Harry and his blunt two-word reply to her | The Sun

ROYAL fans claim to have spotted an awkward Meghan Markle incident on the Buckingham Palace balcony in an unearthed clip from 2019.

The Duchess of Sussex was seen turning round to speak to her husband during the flypast, but he reminded her she needed to face the crowds.

Meghan appeared straight-faced as Prince Harry simply told her to “turn around”, as she stood in front of him.

According to lip reader Tina Lannin, Harry said: "No he hasn't. Oh fine. Turn around."

Just at this point the National Anthem began playing, indicating that perhaps he was telling her to stand to attention just in time for the music.

The lip reader added that Harry then appeared to say "oh fine" when Meghan turned around to him again.

The Prince maintained his stern expression, while Meghan looked sheepish.

The couple, who had just celebrated their first wedding anniversary, shared a few words after joining the Queen to watch the traditional flyover.

While many people defended Meghan, particularly as she had only been in the family for a year and so fairly new to royal customs, others commented on how the incident had looked.

One wrote: “Never forget! She couldn’t turn her head on the royal balcony."

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex famously stepped back from the royal family in 2020 and relocated to California.

They now live in Santa Barbara with their two kids, Archie, four, and Lilibet, two.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex last spent Christmas with the royal family at Sandringham in 2018, before their acrimonious move to the US.

It has been claimed the Sussexes have not received a Christmas invite from The King this year, The Sunday Times reports.

However insiders allege The King can invite Harry and Meghan for New Year in Scotland while the Waleses stay at Anmer Hall in Norfolk.

The move could mean the brothers both get the chance to see their dad over the festive period, with William going to Sandringham at Christmas.

A source told MailOnline: "It would certainly have the advantage of killing two birds with one stone.

"Extending an olive branch to one son without causing difficulty to the other."
