With the cost of living crisis affecting Britons all over the country, families are doing whatever they can to make savings where they can. Morrisons has announced a new incentive whereby customers can save whilst still enjoying tasty food.

Popular UK supermarket Morrisons is making a change to the price of food in its cafes.

All cafes will be permanently reducing the price of over half the hot dishes available.

This means customers can enjoy their Morrisons favourites for a better price.

Some of the meals with new slashed prices include the popular Fish and Chips, Full Breakfast – with Scottish, vegan and vegetarian options – and Burgers with Chips and Coleslaw.

These meal prices will be reduced by a substantial 50 percent, meaning the meals will now cost £6.99, £5.99 and £5.99, respectively.

This will be available in all 397 Morrisons cafés nationwide from today, November 8.

Sian Whittle, Category Director of Morrisons Cafés, commented on the new price slash and how it will affect shoppers.

She stated: “We know that when it comes to eating out, our customers are looking for great value more than ever so we’re pleased to announce that we’ve cut the price of over half the hot dishes on our menu.

The price cut isn’t the only change the supermarket has made recently, as it also has some festive news for shoppers.

The supermarket has launched its Christmas menu for Morrisons customers already feeling festive.

The seasonal menu includes traditional favourites such as Prawn Cocktail, Brussels Pâté and Tangy Tomato and Basil Soup for starters.

For mains, customers can wolf down a Christmas turkey roast with all the trimmings, also available in vegetarian and vegan options.

Shoppers who still have room for dessert can enjoy Christmas Pudding, Bramley Apple Crumble and Sticky Toffee Pudding.

For a lighter snack, festive hot sandwiches and burgers are available, and a Mini Christmas Turkey Roast.

Pigs in Blankets lovers can also order a stand alone portion for £2.99, or as a side with another festive dish.

Sian stated: “Our Christmas menu also offers traditional classics as well as some festive twists and we look forward to welcoming our customers to our cafes in the coming weeks.”

Customers can tuck into a two-course Christmas meal for £9.99 or three courses for £11.99 from 11.30am to 3.30pm each day.

A final initiative available through the month of November actually allows customers to enjoy some totally free food.

Morrisons recently partnered with Heinz to allow anyone who “asks for Henry” at a Morrisons cafe a hot jacket potato topped with Heinz Beans, free of charge.

It went down a treat with jacket potato-loving customers, so it has been extended until the end of the month.
