My dad said I could live in his spare flat – but it’s totally unsuitable | The Sun

DEAR DEIDRE: DAD said I could live in his spare flat while I study at uni, but it’s totally unsuitable.

Now I’m worried I’ll fail my degree because I’m behind on the work and feeling so down.

I’m 19 and my dad is 48. He bought a flat to do up and said I could live there to save cash.

But living on a noisy building site, which is damp and cold, is making studying impossible.

I also feel ill. My pals share student flats, so I’m missing out on the social side, too.

Dad says I’m being ungrateful. What can I do?

DEIDRE SAYS: Ask your student welfare office about emergency accommodation.

In the meantime, can you stay with a friend or relative?

If you are worried about your studies, speak to your tutor.

Thank your dad but tell him this just isn’t working. My support pack, Standing Up For Yourself, should help.
