Netflix Commissions Third Season Of Japanese Series ‘Alice In Borderland’
Netflix VP of APAC Content, Minyoung Kim, revealed that Japanese live-action series Alice In Borderland has been commissioned for a third season during her talk on “The Future of Japanese Entertainment” at APOS. Kento Yamazaki and Tao Tsuchiya are reprising their roles in Season 3, which will again be directed by Shinsuke Sato. Based on the manga series of the same name by Haro Aso, Alice In Borderland revolves around a group of people who are transported to a parallel universe in which they have to play and win games to remain alive. Following its second season debut in December 2022, the series became Netflix Japan’s most-watched title, even beating anime content, and reached the Top 10 in more than 90 countries.

BBC Lifestyle Launches On Cignal TV In The Philippines
BBC Studios’ BBC Lifestyle channel is launching on Cignal TV, a subscription-based direct-to-home satellite TV service in the Philippines. BBC Lifestyle will be available on Cignal TV from October 1, 2023, joining two existing premium BBC Studios channels, BBC Earth and BBC News. The channel carries shows including Gordon Ramsay’s Future Food Stars, Nigella Lawson’s Nigella’s Cook, Eat, Repeat, Jamie Oliver’s Jamie’s One-Pan Wonders, Amazing Hotels: Life Beyond The Lobby, Grand Designs, George Clarke’s Old House New Home, The Great British Bake Off Series and The Graham Norton Show. Cignal TV’s President and CEO Jane J. Basas said: “The premium content from BBC Studios will also be made available through our mobile app, Cignal Play. This allows our viewers to have the best content available anytime in the palm of their hand.”
CJ ENM Hong Kong’s ‘Venus On Mars’ Set To Premiere On September 28
Chinese-language series Venus On Mars, produced by CJ ENM Hong Kong, is set to launch on several streaming platforms and free-to-air channels across Asia on September 28. The series is one of three produced by CJ ENM Hong Kong with support from Singapore’s Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA), along with Deep End and Hungry Souls. Produced by Singapore’s Mocha Chai Laboratories, Venus On Mars will launch on China’s Youku, Taiwanese streaming platform FriDay Video, Taiwanese IPTV platform Hami Video, Singapore’s Singtel TV GO and CAST.sg and Cambodian FTA channel PNN TV and streaming service PNN Plus. The sci-fi romantic comedy is directed by Chai Yee Wei and stars Tsao Yu Ning, Ivy Shao, Wes Lo, Renzo Liu, Gina Lim and Wong Jinglun.
