A whopping 77% of food lovers are firing up their ovens instead of waiting for a lukewarm delivery, saving a pretty penny in the process.
A new study by pizza brand Chicago Town found that 77% of Brits are now filling their freezers with pizzas. These cost on average £3.10 compared to a £10.80 takeaway one. A massive 85% have noticed the rise in the cost of takeaway pizza, with 82% cutting back their consumption to save money.

By choosing frozen versions, they're saving an average of £26.70 a month or a significant £320.40 a year. But it's not just about the savings, many believe fakeaways offer more variety and taste better. Almost four in 10 (37%) insist home-cooked frozen pizzas are just as good or even better than takeaways.
And while takeout meals might be known for convenience, with inconsistent delivery times impacting the temperature and quality of food, 41% agree that a frozen pizza can be hot and ready quicker. As a result, 78% of people are open to trying alternative versions of their favourite takeaway dishes.
