Princess Eugenie has revealed her strong bond with her sister Princess Beatrice – but admitted ‘she’s annoying when she wants to be’.
The 33-year-old granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth II opened up about their sibling relationship while speaking on the White Wine Question Time podcast, hosted by Kate Thornton.
‘She’s annoying when she wants to be and I’m really annoying to her back, but we love each other, best of friends,’ Eugenie explained.
The royal mother-of-two is currently on maternity leave from her director role at Hauser & Wirth, and divides her time between the UK and Portugal, where husband Jack Brooksbank manages the sales and marketing team for luxury resort CostaTerra Golf and Ocean Club.
Yet she continues to maintain frequent contact with sister Beatrice, who is Vice President of Partnerships and Strategy at tech company Afiniti.

‘She’s a great mum, I always ring her for nearly everything. ‘”What do I do about this? What do I do about that?”. Same goes for my mum. Literally, constant.’
Born two years apart, in 1988 and 1990 respectively, the royal siblings are known for their close relationship.

While the pair are often spotted in Mayfair clubs dressed to the nines, they swapped out their heels for a more casual look, both sporting Wellington boots and beaming at the camera.
‘Beatrice and I, our whole lives, we’ve always had each other. We’re the only ones going through exactly what the other is going through at exactly that time as a girl – in our family, our place of work, whatever it is. I think that’s extraordinary to think about,’ Eugenie explained.
‘We’re not twins, yet you go through life knowing exactly what the other one is going through. She’s my big sissy, she’s a legend.’
Eugenie also opened up about the two sons she shares with Jack: August, two, and five-month-old Ernest.
She said: ‘My kids are so wonderful. Augie is a two-and-a-half-year-old firecracker and just listens to me, I don’t know why. And Ernie smiles the whole time so they’re really easy and wonderful boys.’

But the Princess confessed dinner time can be problematic for the young family. ‘There are other things that don’t go well – feeding times are tearing-my-hair-out type moments but sleep is not a problem at the moment,’ she explained.
Elsewhere in the interview, Eugenie shared her fear that she will be trolled online, and as a result, she carefully plans all of her social media posts and asks others for advice beforehand.
As a public figure, she also discussed her concerns that she might be sharing too much about her family life, which leads her to think twice about how and when she posts a photo.
After growing up in the spotlight, Eugenie also revealed that people tell her she is ‘better looking in real life’ after being photographed in awkward moments over the years.
The royal said: ‘I do my own Instagram and I find it the most stressful thing in the world. Before I post, I text about five people to ask if it’s ok, am I going to get trolled?’
Elsewhere in the interview, she joked about ‘terrible’ photos that had been taken in the past (pictured with Beatrice at the wedding of Prince William to Catherine Middleton in April 2011)
She recalled one occasion when she had written “your” instead of “you’re” and was abused by Instagram users for her grammar error. ‘I freaked out,’ she recalled. ‘Since then I’ve been really particular.’
The Princess added she feels a responsibility to be respectful to her family in terms of what she shares on social media.
‘I don’t want to overpost my children or family life, I’m constantly finding a balance,’ she said.
After growing up in the public eye, Eugenie joked about ‘terrible’ photos of herself that had been taken in the past.
‘There’s been terrible ugly shots of us coming out of bars,’ she said. ‘People come up to me and say “you’re much better looking in real life”.
‘Beatrice and I, like many of our cousins, have had a really awkward phases. I’m proud of my incredibly strange looks.’
