Christmas delivery slots are being booked up fast as savvy online shoppers rose before dawn to secure their Christmas groceries. If you haven’t managed to get a Tesco Christmas Delivery slot, don’t panic. Here are tips on other British supermarket delivery slots and ways to get your Christmas groceries delivered on time.

Tesco opened bookings for more Christmas delivery slots this morning, one week after Delivery Saver customers got first dibs on festive food deliveries.

Delivery slots opened at 6am this morning, with eager customers logging on at 5.30am to guarantee themselves a slot.

When we checked, over an hour later, many slots were booked but some were still available on December 22, 23 and 24.

Twitter user @ScaramangaJoe tweeted: “All the Tesco Christmas delivery slots were taken in TEN MINUTES this morning.”

Others were chuffed with the service, such as @mrsjollyfolly who tweeted: “So impressed this morning! Straight on and booked my Christmas slot by 6:05! #tesco #tescodelivery #tescochristmasdelivery #christmasdelivery”

If you’re one of the lucky ones who secured a delivery: well done, now you can put your feet up knowing your Christmas groceries are taken care of.

If you haven’t yet booked your groceries delivery, check again as some slots were still available for delivery.

Choosing an earlier delivery date, like December 22, may give you a better chance of receiving your groceries on time; you’ll just need to resist eating the mince pies for a few days.

Tesco will also open up slots for Click and Collect, which can be booked three weeks in advance of picking them up.

So, if you aren’t able to arrange delivery, and are able to travel to a Tesco store, you could book your Christmas food to click and collect from next week.

Sainsbury’s Christmas Delivery

Sainsbury’s opened their first Christmas delivery slots to Delivery Pass customers this morning, but only for delivery on December 20.

Slots for December 21, 22 and 23 will open for booking tomorrow (for December 21), Thursday (for December 22) and Friday (for December 23).

If you don’t want to join Delivery Pass, slots will be available to everyone from next Tuesday, November 30, but there may only be a few left by then.

The store has promised more home delivery and click-and-collect slots than ever this year, to meet demand created by more shoppers opting for online orders.

ASDA still has slots available for delivery in the run-up to Christmas.
