We’ve all heard some nightmare first date stories, but this one might just win because of the sheer audacity.
What was meant to be a romantic date together in an Italian restaurant turned into more of an audition.
TikToker Meghan James took to the social media platform to share the first date drama which involved her date inviting two other women.
He did this without telling any of the unsuspecting ladies, by the way.
Why? Because he was vetting them for his ‘ideal three-way’ that he wanted to have, said Megan.
‘My date invited myself, along with two other women so that he could speed up the process of finding his perfect three-way,’ she explained.
‘I met this guy on a dating app and I feel like by all reasonable measures he was pretty much just your average guy.
‘Literally nothing in his profile could’ve prepared me for what was to come.’
matthew, if youre watching this, please go to therapy… lord knows i need to after this #grwm #storytime
The pair had agreed to meet an an Italian restaurant and Megan was early but her date was already waiting outside, so they headed in and grabbed their table, which turned out to be for four.
‘They seat us at this four top, which isn’t even that weird when you think about it. We were sitting there for two minutes before this girl walks up who I think, at the time, is just a waitress,’ she said.
‘She kind of just looks at me funny and then introduces herself and I’m like “oh hi I’m Megan” and as she’s sitting down, the next girl walks up.
‘I’m like “what the f**k is going on and he’s just sitting there completely fine.’
One of the girls asked Megan how she knew Matthew (the date) and Megan said it was their first date.
Megan returned the question to which one of the girls responded: ‘I thought this was our first date.’
She added: ‘He’d scheduled this date at the same time for all three of us to meet…to find the perfect three-way. We all left.’
Her dating dilemma hit nearly 400,000 views on TikTok with people in the comments half-laughing half-crying at the current dating climate.
One commenter wrote: ‘“We all left”. Girl I am crying because the dating pool is an absolute dumpster fire.’
Another said: ‘Absolutely not. I hope he’s single forever.’
Someone even shared a similar experience they’d witnessed while working in hospitality.
‘I worked at a bar and this guy invited one girl from Bumble and one from Tinder “to compete” and they both stayed. He split the check three ways,’ the TikToker wrote.
Others simply found the situation hilarious, with one saying: ‘The way I would’ve died of laughter and left’, while another said: ‘Dude thinks he’s on The Bachelor.’
