Getting creative! Facebook user Billy Charlene from France, shared the tongue-in-cheek clip showing how, by placing your head through one of the leg holes and tying the straps around your face, you can create a layer of protection around the nose and mouth
The clip of Billy making the mask, as seen above, has divided opinion on social media
While some social media users praised the creative idea, others criticised Billy for wasting a nappy because they are already in short supply in many supermarkets due to coronavirus panic buying.
A handful went so far as to claim that sharing the video could prompt people desperate for face masks to rush out to supermarkets to snap up nappies, even if they don’t have children at home.
Initial responses to the Facebook video praised the idea and joked that their baby wouldn’t mind sharing nappies
One person wrote: ‘Now people are going to be unnecessarily buying nappies and leaving people without who truly need them’
Another said: ‘And this is how buying nappies gets even harder. I get it’s a joke but the nutcases won’t’
‘A) wouldn’t even be effective. B) There’s no nappies on the selves as it is,’ added a third.
Others vented their fury as they argued there is already a shortage of nappies in shops
