Cleaning blinds can be a tedious task – but one woman's simple 65p hack could make it much quicker.
Randy, who posts on social media under the username @randyandco, shared a video of a woman demonstrating how to properly clean your blinds using a cheap hack. In the video, which gained more than 35,000 likes, she was seen cutting holes into some yellow and green sponges – which cost just 65p.
She then wedged two of them onto the end of a pair of tongs before taking them over to the window, with open shutter blinds. The woman sprayed some cleaning fluid on the sponges before running them along the surface.
The quick-and-easy method banished dust from the blinds within seconds, as Randy declared in the caption: "How to clean blinds properly!" TikTok users were left fascinated over the hack, as they took to the comments branding the hack "genius".
One user said: "Genius [heart eye emojis]." A second added: "That is a good idea. I’m going to try that."
A third cheered: "Love this! I need to clean/dust my blinds and have about 10 windows and some are really large! Thanks!" A fourth commented: "Oh I will try! Sponges are Cheap!"
However, other users suggested other ways to make sure the blinds stayed clean. A user wrote: "Or just buy Dust Swifter." Meanwhile, another quipped: "Cleaning hack – I’ll have my maid do it."
The news comes after a professional cleaner shared a top tip to prevent a build-up of shower screen limescale. And according to Express, it'll only cost you around 30p to get the job done. On the Hinch Army Cleaning Tips Facebook page, the housework whiz revealed: “So many people ask about cleaning cloudy stained shower screens.
"I’m a cleaner and never stop learning methods. I had the opportunity to do a before and after this week at work. I do this method and the stains vanish every time.
"I use a wet magic cleaning sponge (my holy grail!), wipe down with a wet microfibre cloth and buff to a shine with a glass cloth. Hope it helps you all.”
You can pick up a pack of 10 "magic cleaning sponges" from eBay for just £2.99, which should work a treat. And you don't even need to buy any extra products!
