    'They should've had a penalty!'

Alan Shearer believes Arsenal should've been awarded a penalty against Chelsea yesterday.

Speaking on Match of the Day, he said: “They should have had (a penalty). There’s no doubt about it.

“Sanchez has just come out, and he wipes him out, Jesus.

“What’s key for me is that he catches him in the head.

“Look, he goes right through him here. It’s a terrible challenge.

“How on earth can the VAR not think that’s a penalty, and the referee? He is nowhere near the ball.”

One person tweeted: "Appalling, very fortunate to leave with a point, decent finish from Dec and a fantastic cross from Saka. Other than that we were poor all over the pitch."

Another added: "Good to comeback but we were terrible."

A third fan wrote: "Showed character, but we were poor."

While a fourth commented: "Great recovery, Trossard is always 10/10 in moments like that, Saka is not fit yet so is Ødegaard. Arteta needs to rest Saka and also Rambo needs to be our number 1 again. Overall 7/10 for Arsenal today."

Neto would be a 'great addition'

Paul Merson has said Arsenal target Pedro Neto would be a 'great addition' for Mikel Arteta's side.

Merson wrote in his Sportskeeda column: “Pedro Neto now looks like the excellent player we all expected him to become. Before his injury, he was like a speedboat without a driver – he was beating players for fun but there was no end product. He was making the wrong decisions too often.

“With the way Neto’s playing now, I’d be surprised if he’s still at Wolves at the end of January. Apart from Liverpool, I don’t think there’s a top team that wouldn’t be interested in him. He’d be a great addition to Arsenal, with the way they rely on their wingers.”

    Ramsdale not in the squad

Aaron Ramsdale has been left out of the matchday squad for Arsenal's derby clash with Chelsea today.

The England shot-stopper is nowhere to be seen in Mikel Arteta's squad, but it's safe to say he has a valid reason.

Despite Ramsdale losing his place in between the sticks to new arrival David Raya in recent weeks, that's not why he hasn't travelled with his teammates.

Instead the 25-year-old missed out on the game after his wife Georgina gave birth to their first child.

The official Arsenal X account updated fans with the reasoning behind Ramsdale's absence and congratulated him on becoming a father.

The post read: "Aaron Ramsdale misses out on today’s squad after his wife Georgina gave birth to a baby boy. Congratulations both."

"They are a contender for everything – not only the Premier League but the Champions League. We are confident we can give our best and give a very good game."
