Battered Tyson Fury reveals reason why Francis Ngannou didn't win fight after being dropped by ex-UFC champ | The Sun

TYSON FURY claims he has the stats to prove he wasn't gifted a victory in his Saudi showdown with boxing novice Francis Ngannou.

The Gypsy King preserved his unbeaten record and a historic undisputed heavyweight title fight with Oleksandr Usyk with a narrow points victory over the former UFC champion.

Fury was left red-faced when he was dropped in the third round, which many believe was enough for Ngannou to have his hand raised.

The WBC heavyweight champion landed less than a third of the punches he threw in the Riyadh Rumble but was still more accurate than the MMA man-mountain.

He said: "I'm not a boxing judge, but I can clearly see he didn't win the fight by the punch stats."

Fury is adamant that all three judges would have awarded The Predator a historic victory had he done enough to earn it.

He told iFL TV: "And if he would've won the fight, they would've given it to him. Wouldn't they?

"It wasn't my own show, was it? We were both away fighter?"

Fury, 35, can now focus on his long-overdue showdown with Usyk after playing and almost getting burned by the Ngannou fire.

But promoter Frank Warren insists the proposed December 23 date is now OFF the table.

He said: “It is too soon to talk about what Tyson does right now but the Usyk fight is signed.

“It will go ahead but it will not be on the 23rd. It was crazy for some people to suggest that it could still go ahead on the 23rd.

“He is 35 years old and has just done a 12-week training camp and has just been in a tough fight.

“He needs a break with his family, he needs to switch off and we will announce the date when we are ready. But the fight is signed. The fight will happen.

“It will happen early in the new year, late January or February. It will be up to Tyson, it is his body.

“He wasn’t smashed to bits at all but he needs a break.”

Usyk, however, is adamant it's December or bust for their showdown, telling Boxing King Media: "Uncle Frank says some sneaky things.

"We have a contract that says the fight has to take place on Dec 23rd.
