The Cleveland Browns appear to be considering reuniting Odell Beckham Jr. with his first NFL offensive coordinator, and later, his head coach with the Giants.
Ben McAdoo was at the Browns’ facility Friday interviewing for an offensive coaching position, according to Cleveland.com.
It was not known what position McAdoo was interviewing for, but the offensive coordinator role has yet to be filled by incoming head coach Kevin Stefanski.
Stefanski replaced Freddie Kitchens after serving as Vikings offensive coordinator last season.
Stefanski reportedly met Thursday with Beckham, who underwent core surgery following a disappointing first season with the Browns (6-10) in which he totaled 74 receptions and only four touchdown catches in 16 games.
Beckham also was caught in separate incidents on video following his alma mater LSU’s victory in the NCAA title game last week. He was shown handing money to Tigers players on the field and slapping a security officer on the backside during the team’s locker-room celebration.
Beckham won NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year with McAdoo as the Giants’ offensive coordinator in 2014 and scored 35 touchdowns in his record-setting first three seasons in New York.
McAdoo, 42, was promoted as Tom Coughlin’s replacement as head coach in 2016, but he was fired 12 games into his second season with an overall record of 13-15.
McAdoo spoke with the Jaguars and Panthers about openings earlier this offseason. He also interviewed to be Cleveland’s offensive coordinator in 2018, but the Browns hired Todd Haley for that position.
