    FEELING BLUE

Good afternoon and welcome to the live blog for Chelsea vs Southampton!

Frank Lampard’s Chelsea go into this afternoon’s game in fine form, they smashed Crystal Palace 4-0 in their last game before the international break.

Goals from Jorginho x2, Kurt Zouma andBen Chilwell sunk the South London club, putting the Blues back on track after their EFL defeat to Tottenham.

Southampton come into the game on a decent run of form themselves, they’ve won their last two fixtures in the league against West Brom and Burnley.

Unfortunately for Chelsea, they will be without new boy Ben Chilwell who was forced to withdraw from the England squad last week.

Timo Werner will also be hit and miss for the game having not played in Germany’s clash with Turkey due to illness.

Goal keeper Edouard Mendy is also missing the game due to an injury he picked up whilst away with Senegal, paving the way for Kepa to come back into the starting line-up.

Hakim Ziyech could make his long awaited Chelsea competitive debut, having missed the first four league fixtures due to injury, Ziyech left the Moroccan national side early after an agreement was made for him to play limited minutes.

Ralph Hasenhuttl has one player missing due to a positive covid test, Stuart Armstrong is set to miss out.

We will have the full team news shortly!
