Fans ask 'is that a Chelsea striker shooting?' as non-league player's unbelievable time-wasting antics go viral | The Sun

CHEEKY fans compared a non-league star’s epic time-wasting tactic to Chelsea’s multi-million pound strikeforce after the hilarious clip went viral.

The incident occurred on Tuesday night in the National League as Dagenham & Redbridge took on York City.

The Daggers broke the deadlock on the hour mark courtesy of Ryan Hill.

However, The Minstermen had a shock up their sleeve as they nicked the points at the death.

Lennel John-Lewis levelled the score in the 85th-minute before Dipo Akinyemi pounced in the fourth minute of additional time to claim the points.

As the game reached the eighth minute of time added on, York were awarded a free-kick deep into the Dagenham & Redbridge half.

A clip of it soon started spreading online that was captioned with: “Alexa, define time wasting in football at its finest.”

But as some football supporters revelled in the time-wasting tactic, others jokingly asked if it was a Chelsea striker that had taken it.

The Blues have spent over £1BILLION on new players since new owners Todd Boehly and Clearlake took charge last year.

Raheem Sterling, Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku are just some of the big-money signings in Mauricio Pochettino’s squad.

However, the shot-shy Blues have only mustered a meagre seven goals in seven Premier League matches so far this term.
