Footage of John Fury shows Tyson’s father getting brutally knocked out while competing as a professional.
Many will only know ‘Big John’ for being Tyson and Tommy’s dad. However, many may not know that he was a former professional boxer.
Between 1987 and 1995, Fury Snr had 13 bouts as a heavyweight, winning eight times and suffering four defeats along with one draw.
His penultimate fight saw Fury go head-to-head with former WBO heavyweight champion Henry Akinwande at the G-Mex Centre in Manchester.
Footage from the fight shows Fury being dropped to the canvas by Akinwande, leaving him struggling to move as he attempts to beat the count from the referee.

Fury appeared to drop his guard during the third round of the contest. Akinwande knocked John down with a brutal right hand – with Tyson’s father being unable to keep himself in the fight.
Fury Snr then took a four year hiatus away from the sport. The loss to the former heavyweight champion was the first knockout defeat of his professional career.
He returned in 1995 against Steve Garber, which also took place at the G-Mex Centre.
Fury Snr had already beaten Garber earlier on in his career. However, the rematch ended differently.
The former heavyweight boxer suffered yet another knockout defeat, losing to Garber in the fourth round.
Garber dropped Fury Snr with a vicious right hand, leaving ‘Big John’ unable to continue.
After retiring with a professional record of 8-4-1, Fury Snr has since been working with sons Tyson and Tommy, as well as nephew Hughie.
He is expected to be ringside for Tommy’s upcoming fight against KSI this weekend and it is fair to say that Fury Snr has made a real name for himself in the build-up to the showdown.

KSI ensured fight week for his grudge match with Tommy got off to a controversial start by spitting at his rival’s dad John at the pair’s open workout on Wednesday night.
It came after John threw a bottle up towards the balcony, forcing KSI to duck for cover.
On the same night, ‘Big John’ needed to be held back by security after almost getting into a fight with Jake and Logan Paul’s dad.

Last night, at the final press conference for KSI vs Tommy Fury, John punched and headbutted a glass panel as he stormed the stage.
Speaking exclusively to Mail Sport, via Freebets, Fury predicted that KSI will ‘squawk like a chicken’ against Tommy in Manchester on Saturday night.
‘He might run round the ring squarking like a chicken and when Tommy catches up to him and knocks him out that’s what’s coming. Let him dream and talk big, enjoy the time because that’s the only time he will be big. On Saturday night you will see the difference between a man who can fight and one who can’t,’ said Fury Snr.
