FORMER Manchester United star Marouane Fellaini is now unemployed after leaving Chinese side Shandong Taishan.

The midfielder joined from the Red Devils in 2019 and has had a very successful spell in the Far East.

Fellaini, 35, won the league and cup double with Shandong in 2021.

Shandong won the Chinese FA Cup three years in a row between 2020-22 with Fellaini becoming a legend at the club as a result.

Fans have paid tribute to the Belgian by unveiling tifo's of the midfielder, who bid an emotional farewell to the club.

Shandong will hold a ceremony following their match on Saturday to pay tribute to Fellaini.

Prior to his China move Fellaini spent five-and-a-half years at Old Trafford where he made 177 appearances.

He helped United win the FA Cup in 2016 before winning both the Carabao Cup and Europa League the following year.
