Nike have reiterated the sportswear giant no longer has a relationship with Mason Greenwood, after the on-loan Getafe forward sharing social media posts featuring the brand’s trainers.

Greenwood was dumped by sponsors Nike in February 2022, after he was arrested on charges of attempted rape and assault the previous month.

The charges were dropped by the Crown Prosecution Services in February, with Greenwood having consistently denied any wrongdoing.

Greenwood was loaned out by Man United in August to LaLiga side Getafe, after the Premier League giants decided that his future remained away from the club following an internal investigation.

The 22-year-old shared a photo on social media on Tuesday, showing off a few pairs of Nike trainers worth £23,000.

The trainers were seen coming out of a £4,600 Chrome Hearts Cemetery Cross Duffle Bag.

A pair of platinum Cactus Plant Flea Market Pure Platinum Nike Dunk Lows would have cost Greenwood almost £9,000 and another pair, Desert Moss, £2113.

His pair of black Nike Air Force 1 Low ’07 are worth an eye-watering £12,404.

Despite Greenwood showing off merchandise on social media, Nike have dismissed suggestions of a relationship with the forward.

‘Mason Greenwood is no longer a Nike athlete,’ a Nike spokesperson told The Sun.

Greenwood remains without a boot sponsor after Nike dropped him following his arrest.

He had previously been seen training in a pair of seven-year old Nike Mercurial Superfly 4 boots, with the company no longer supplying him new footwear.

The Getafe forward has also played matches this season with old Nike boots.

He has scored three goals in 10 matches for the Spanish side this season, with only one coming in La Liga.

Greenwood and his partner Harriet Robson welcomed a child together in July, but its name and gender has not been revealed.

His contract with Manchester United isn’t up until 2025 but the parties both agreed that he would leave the club in August.

It is not known if he will be sold next season or loaned to another club.
