Was a winner over hurdles last season but took his form to a new level when scooting in on chase debut at Uttoxeter last time.
He has shown all his best form on testing ground and he loved the mud at the Staffordshire track. He tanked along and jumped like an old hand without a mistake at the testing course.
He had six lengths in hand crossing the line and should be capable of improving on that first experience of the big obstacles.
Trainer Tom Lacey is in flying form and wisely turns this six-year-old out under a 7lb penalty before his handicap mark goes up even further.
STRATTON OAKMOUNT (2.05 Wincanton, nb)
Only had two rivals to beat at Southwell last month but he scored with lots in hand.
He relished the heavy ground there and definitely wasn’t stopping at the end of the three-mile trip. That was a conditional jockeys’ race which means he’s back from the same handicap mark. Better than that, jockey Ben Godfrey can use his 3lb allowance in this open handicap.

START IN FRONT (11.55 Market Rasen)
Has his sights lowered here by trainer Rebecca Menzies.
He came back from eight months off with a promising third at Wetherby. The two that finished in front of him that day look useful so the form is solid.
This four-year-old has had a 3lb drop in the weights and has a useful claimer on board too. That makes him dangerous and he should be fitter on this second start of the campaign.
