Incoming Man Utd owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe 'to tell Erik ten Hag to patch things up with star after huge bust-up' | The Sun

SIR JIM RATCLIFFE will ask Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag to patch things up with Jadon Sancho, according to reports.

The winger has not played for the Red Devils since August 26.

Sancho was dropped for the subsequent match at Arsenal, with Ten Hag citing an inadequate level of training.

The England international refuted his manager's statement, claiming he'd been made a "scapegoat".

Ten Hag, 53, offered Sancho the chance to apologise and be re-integrated into the squad.

But the 23-year-old refused and has remained banished from the first-team ever since.

Ten Hag is set to have a new boss soon, with Ratcliffe to take control of football matters at Old Trafford when he completes an imminent deal worth around £1.25bn for a 25 per cent stake in Man Utd.

According to the Star, the Ineos chief will urge his manager to end his Sancho feud.

Ratcliffe is set to back Ten Hag with a huge January transfer war chest despite Man Utd's poor start to the season, believing he is the right man for the job.

But he feels "alarmed" at the way the Dutchman's relationship with Sancho has deteriorated.

The Red Devils bought the former Borussia Dortmund man for over £70million in 2021 and Ratcliffe knows that the value of the asset is plummeting as he continues not to feature.

Sancho remains likely to leave Old Trafford in January but Ratcliffe reportedly feels United could get more for him if he is brought back in from the cold.

He is currently on a deal worth around £250,000-a-week that does not expire until June 2026.

It is not yet known if Ten Hag could fully recover his relationship with Sancho or ever feel he can pick him again.

The United outcast has recently been the subject of interest from Saudi Arabia alongside Tottenham forward Richarlison.

Juventus are also keen on Sancho but would likely only be able to sign him on loan, which would not suit United.
