FORMER Liverpool star Jermaine Pennant believes Jurgen Klopp's side are a dark horse in the Premier League title race.
The ex-winger has been impressed by the Reds so far and believes they have a shot at winning the league if they continue to gel.
Liverpool have won five out of eight games so far, tasting defeat just once in a controversial 2-1 defeat to Tottenham last month.
Pennant praised Liverpool and tipped them for the title, telling The Mirror, on behalf of Minimum Deposit Betting Site: "They really look good.
"Every season, Liverpool goes into the season thinking we want to win the league. That's their aim.
"They're in amongst it and if they continue to gel well, like they are doing so far, there's no reason why Liverpool can't be contenders this season."

Liverpool are three points off table toppers Spurs and Arsenal, but Pennant still tips them to have a greater chance of title success than the Gunners, despite their win over Manchester City last time out.
He added: "I don't want to be negative party pooper here; I think that's a fantastic result.
"Any result against Man City is a superb result and a statement. But you've got to understand they were playing against weakened City team.
"No Rodri was a massive miss. And then on top of that, Kevin De Bruyne is injured as well."

However former Manchester United star Roy Keane believes the Gunners can win the league – if they sign a striker.
He said: “Arsenal can win the league, but they would need that striker. It’s great when you’re watching a team that can play.
"That is good in possession, but also physically strong. We’ve seen Manchester City over the last few years, they’ve got bigger – obviously set pieces are huge.
“We’ve seen players this season come off the bench for Arsenal, they are big, strong, physical players who can get you over the line in tight games.”
