Man Utd and Chelsea suffer blow as Alex Sandro agrees new Juventus contract

It is understood the full-back is set to sign a contract extension with the Old Lady that will keep him at the club until 2023.

Sandro, 27, has been a long-term target for the two Premier League giants but this could spell the end of their pursuit of the Brazilian.

According to reports in Italy, including from respected journalist Fabrizio Romano, the left-back has finally reached an agreement with Juve.

He was reported to be demanding around £7million per season, plus bonuses, and it would appear a figure has been agreed upon.

That would put him among the top earners at the club behind only Cristiano Ronaldo.

Sandro recently put top-flight English clubs on alert by saying he wants to play in the Premier League.

Reports last summer also claimed United had agreed terms with Sandro ahead of a potential £53m transfer.

Manchester City were also said to be considering a move while other reports claimed Sandro had his heart set on a switch to French side PSG.

He joined from Porto in 2015 – with his initial deal expiring in 2020 – and has gone on to establish himself as one of the best attacking full-backs in the world.

Sandro has won three Serie A titles and three Coppa Italias in his three full seasons and was part of the team that reached the final of the Champions League last year, losing to Real Madrid.

This season he has continued to impress but did miss his first game of the campaign this weekend with a muscle problem.
